Antique Papier maché head/ shoulder doll

unbranded French papier maché / composite head shoulder doll - 19th century dressed in a long velvet dress with black waistband and ruffled collar and cuffs. Moulded head and hair with a small amount of damage to the seams where the two pieces were fixed together - the eyes are blue, handmade from fabric, closed mouth painted lips. The wording FRANCE H 12 is embossed on rear of the head The hand made body is soft and appears stuffed with rags. The legs are long and booted, The velvet dress is a little stained and the ruffled collars - hem/ cuffs are aged and a little dirty but not torn The dress is held onto the head by means of a safety pin around the neck Length of doll from head to toe 55 cm ( 21.65")
