A set of three antique hand painted porcelain Guignol puppets Guignol is a French glove/ stick puppet created in Lyon around 1808 by Laurent Mourguet. The term also refers to the puppet theatre where the stories are told. Guignol is the lead character. I believe these three date from early 20th century. They are unmarked. The three characters are the gendarme(with his decorated tricolour cockade), the judge and I believe the third to be Gnafron - Guignols friend There is some damage to the judge - there appears to be a small crack in the back of his head which has previously been repaired ( see final photo) and his clothing is unattached, and would need re-glueing. The hands of all appear in good condition Each puppet has an approximate length of 30cm by 28cm width. (arms fully extended) Delivery is made via Colissimo International, an international parcel delivery service run by the French post office. This service is generally fast and efficient and offers insurance and tracking. I am happy to combine postage charge for orders of more than one item and any postage overages will be refunded. All orders will be acknowledged and despatched within 3 working days Please provide a telephone number and email address (for delivery purposes only.)
